WELCOME to the West Dorset Swimming Club website
Founded in 1989, the Club is based at the Dorchester Sports Centre, Coburg Road. West Dorset Warriors is renowned for its quality coaching from beginners to national swimmers and even Olympic medallists!
Part of the Swim Wessex umbrella organisation, we have achieved Silver Swim 21 accreditation.
Ages at the club range from 5+ up to open category – 16+.
After assessment new members are placed in a session appropriate to their current ability.
Members of “the Warriors” can progress from non-swimmers and compete in:
- local challenge galas
- open meets
- Junior League – Southern
- Regional Championships
- Arena League – Western Division 1 and beyond!
Other activities on offer at West Dorset Warriors:
- synchronised swimming
- sea swimming
- long course development sessions at Millfield
- regular social events
- participation in biathlons, biathles and triathlon
- FUN! (yes – it’s not all serious!)
